Gardens and quads

Within the Wellington estate, whilst there are the wild areas, meadows, woodland and lakes, there are also manicured gardens and quads, with a range of plants that are attractive to visitors and wildlife alike. From showpiece gardens such as The Living Legacy Garden to the quads that form part of the students’ daily commute, there is an abundance of different plants and species. The College Gardens and Countryside department try to make these as wildlife-friendly as possible, installing bug hotels in lots of areas, planting nectar sources for insects, and providing food and shelter for birds for as much of the year as possible.
